| | The Delta Blues Museum is pleased to share this special event from Quapaw Canoe Company:
Below the Surface Presents "Signs at the Crossroads" Saturday, Feb. 6, 12 p.m., at Clarksdale Carnegie Library
Everyone is invited to the Clarksdale Carnegie Library, Friday, February 6 at 12 p.m. to meet and hear from some "Surfer Dudes" coming in from California to enjoy some Muddy Waters (and conduct water quality testing)! Kristian Gustavson (above) will be talking about the Atchafalaya River Expedition Feb 7-15, 2010. Come and hear about Kristian's adventures! He paddled the Mississippi in 2008, stopped in Helena & Clarksdale, visited Quapaw Canoe Company, and ate at Granny Dees. I paddled with Kristian and his father for a couple of days in 2008. He's a big fan of North Mississippi and its great food, culture & music. He likes staying at the Shack Up Inn and going to Red's and Ground Zero for music & the vibes. In fact, he likes it so much he's bringing a writer and photographer from Reader's Digest magazine to help tell the story! The Atchafalaya. America's biggest river swamp. 1.3 million acres. Come & learn more about it and the water quality challenges facing the greater Mississippi Valley. | | |
