World Water Day 2011
We at BTS would like to thank all of our supporters, volunteers, and sponsors that have made our efforts possible over the past year. Kristian has recently been awarded the Red Cross “Hero of the Heartland” for his efforts with the 90 Day Plan program (www.belowthesurface.org/90dayplan.php) and Jared recently returned from the Charting the Course expedition (www.belowthesurface.org/chartingthecourse.php) to raise awareness of the complex issues surrounding the Sacramento River. We are focused on preparing for the summer season to continue to expand our education and outreach programs. As the weather gets warmer, people return to the beaches and the rivers for recreation and we are excited to do the same.
Here’s to a successful year for water activists everywhere! We encourage you to take time today to get out there and enjoy this wonderful resource by canoeing, kayaking, surfing, or swimming in your local watering hole. And while you are at it, grab a few pieces of trash and take ownership of your favorite local beach or park.
Happy World Water Day 2011!
Sincerely,
Below the Surface
