As the author of the blog listed in the title, Preservation Paddleouts a Success! dated July 3rd, I made a factual error that I would like to correct.
In regards to the Drakes Bay Oyster Farm, the leaseholder and antagonist of shellfishing in Drakes Estero which is located within the Point Reyes area, is the National Parks Service, not the Department of Fish and Game. The Department of Fish and Game has been and continues to be a consistent supporter of responsible shellfishing.
The National Parks Service is angling to close off Drakes Estero to any human use in favor of a return to a wilder, untrammeled version.
